It's been years since I sat down and decided to write a blog about personal things. Back then, I had a dating blog - oh, the adventures of Red and her internet dating disasters! All of them were just that. Not one good date out of a baker's dozen. So nowadays, I've given up the dating hi-jinx, and instead, I've turned to blogging about my rv renovation.

My rv: it's a 1998 Winnebago 35 ft Class C, and in one year, it will be completely mine. Her name is Ava. I don't know why, it just popped out of my mouth one day, and I was fine with it because Ava Gardner was a great actress, and I love that genre and the vintage cool, comfy feel of their decor. I wasn't so sure that I wanted to touch paint roller to the rv- we were just staying in it for various reasons of affordability and "temporary housing" issues. But now, I've come to see the benefits of owning your own rv and and never having to pay rent on a home again. I will never buy a house - in this economy, I don't dare think about it, and with my credit, well...I'd be able to buy a box under a bridge down in Little Elm in Dallas. And that's about it!

So, I've been scavenging the internet for rv remodel ideas, and wow!! I cannot BELIEVE the treasure trove of finds on the net. Alot of people are moving into rv's full time and loving it. And so, I have negotiated with my 14 yr old - he wants a cat, a ps4 and a new tv - and instead of renting an apartment, we're going to hang out with Ava for a year or more, and see how it goes. It has to go better than last winter. I was ready to roll Ava over a cliff into the Red River here in Oklahoma...yeah, it got pretty bad. From frozen pipes to busted pipes, to lack of propane, to propane fumes, to a battery dying, to a hydraulic jack dying, tires deflating, and a fan roof flying off in a bad storm, letting rain just pour right in on my bathroom - we believe we've seen the worst. I hope.

Eventually, I'll post BEFORE photos, but I need to clean Ava up a little - she's been a hot mess lately, haha. I may even get creative and post a blog all about my inability to start a bbq fire, in spite of all the money I spent in trying. Girls just can't do it all.

Toodles!
